What a blessing to see this beautiful snow that God has showered down upon us this day. It is something that we have longed to see for a while. As I look out my window and see everything covered my heart was filled with joy. I felt like a child again this morning running around with the camera, taking pictures, and feeling the cold. It was such a beautiful sight to see. But my heart did not stop there. My mind was called to Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool."
White as snow! White is pure, bright, spotless, innocent- that is what my sins have become. They once were counted against me. I was scarlet- impure, vile, filthy, and unrighteous- but God through His grace has covered me and made me white as snow. All my sins are covered. That is a more beautiful picture than I have ever seen or could imagine. As if God has taken a blanket of pure white and covered me forever. Our snow will be gone in a few hours and forgotten about, but my snow that covers me is forever!
